Camp Creek Falls

Camp Creek Falls

A very short trail rewards visitors with views of a lovely waterfall, accessible in the early season. Look for trillium along the trail in spring, and enjoy the sounds of rushing water year-round.

Waterfall

Iron Creek Falls

Iron Creek Falls

This is a short hike to a very pretty waterfall along Iron Creek. In order to access the creekbed you will need to go down a short but steep trail, this section may be difficult with children. There is a deep pool underneath the waterfall that is a good spot to cool off during the warm summer months.

Lake

Lake Scanewa

On our street!

Scanewa offers lake access for boating, fishing, swimming, and further down you can view the dam and access the lower fishing areas.

Cave

Layser Cave

Short Hike!

This short hike is easy for the kiddos to follow along and the interpretive reading along the way is a great experience. Awesome views at the end of the hike and a cool little cave to explore. The road can be a little primitive for some vehicles after the weather has been nasty.

Lodging

Lodging

Looking for close lodging?

Two local motels are available for overnight stays, the Randle Motel, and Tall Timber.

Swap Meets

Swap Meets

Collectables?

Memorial Day & Labor Day weekend offer activities in nearby Packwood with a HUGE whole town swap meet.

Lake

Walupt Lake

Walupt Lake

Used largely as part of the Nannie Peak Loop, Walupt Lake and Creek are a nice little hike in their own right. While not big on views, the flat grade of this trail makes it a good outing for families, since the river partway through the route offers a good turnaround point if little legs get tired. If you want to keep exploring, head up to where this trail terminates at the Pacific Crest Trail, and see if you can meet some thru-hikers.
